The Latest Marathi Movie of the Year 2011, which is in news is What an Idea Mai. The lead character of the film Mai [which means mother] is played by Usha Nadkarni. What an Idea Mai is directed by Praveen Shetye and produced by Madhavan Bhatt and Minakshi Bhatt.
The film What an Idea Mai deals with the vanishing of joint families and the emerging new culture of Nuclear families. Mai’s son wants to sell the old house and wants to settle down with two independent houses one for him and the other for his parents. Mai plans an idea to protect her house and her joint family after the arrival of her granddaughter.
